how quickly it can be breached

  First post by: www.itsbattery.com

First celebrities were getting their cell Fujitsu Laptop Battery hacked, then came a rash of celebrity e-mail hacks, including hackers breaking into the e-mail account of former vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin. Now, the latest target for so-called black-hat computer hackers is celebrity Twitter accounts.

Twitter is an odd site that’s fairly difficult to describe, though what it actually does is quite simple. Twitter allows its users to create “micro blogs” that can be updated quickly and easily, even from a cell phone; but the site also uses social networking to allow users to connect with large groups of friends or “Twitter followers” easily.

Celebrities, pop stars, news anchors and even politicians are all using Twitter to stay connected to their fan Laptop Batterybase. For example, President-Elect Barack Obama used the site to great effect during his presidential campaign, to raise money, and get out the vote at primaries and the general election.

News anchors are also using Twitter to keep their viewers up to date on the latest happenings in the world. CNN’s Rick Sanchez is one prominent news figure that has used the site very effectively to keep CNN viewers connected, even while they surf the web.

But according to Cnet.com, just this morning, Fujitsu FPCBP80 BatterySanchez’s Twitter account was hacked, and viewers found the following headline beneath the news anchor’s picture: “I am on crack right now might not be coming into work today.”

Of course, Sanchez was as surprised as anyone by the blog post, and quickly assured his loyal viewers that he was in fact sober, and that his account had been taken over by malicious hackers.

In fact, Twitter is reporting that over 30 different accounts were hacked into over the past weekend, some belonging to news personalities and celebrities. Twitter claims that the hacker was able to gain access to the accounts by manipulating a software tool normally used by Twitter’s support personnel, which allows them to gain access to a user’s twitter accounts if they should forget their password or otherwise get locked out of the site.

Other dignitaries and celebrities, ranging from President-elect Barack Obama, to pop starlet Britney Spears also had their Twitter accounts compromised over the weekend. Even the official Twitter channel of Fox News fell victim to the malicious attacks, and were temporarily locked out of their own account.

For their part, Twitter claims that the security problem has been dealt with, and aside from resetting Fujitsu FPCBP77 Battery thousands of passwords, the issue is now under control. But the incident is a reminder to us all of the fragile nature of online security — and how quickly it can be breached.
