Electric sex may sound like the name of a British punk band, but it’s exactly what it sounds. If you’re looking for a way to spice up your sex life, electric sex toys may be the way to go. Here, one woman reviewed several sex toys that send out electric currents meant to give you an orgasm that’s one-of-a-kind. Some were great, well others were just plain painful. Keep reading to find out what it was liked to be shocked into orgasm.

Sex toys. S. Nicole Lane took to Broadly to review four different types of sex toys that run on electricity and send currents to your body for an electric orgsam. With the help of her partner, Lane was able to take her sex life to an entirely new level.

Electricity. Lane explains that all of the toys she used were meant to be used outside of the body and aren’t meant to be used internally. Each one was a bit different but in the end they all used some sort of electric current to create a unique sensation on the body. Some were more intense than others.

Devices. ”Generally speaking, there are two types of devices that people can utilize in their electrosex experience: wands and TENS units. Wands come with attachments and are used externally on the surface of the skin, while TENS penetrate deep tissue and are used internally. Since I’m a beginner, I decided to try a Neon Wand from Kinklabthrough SheVibe,” writes Lane, via Broadly.

Wand. Lane explained that each toy came with different attachments and used static electricity. Because it was her first time using it, Lane started out using the lowest setting. Overall, the wand made strange noises and emitted a strange smell, which isn’t exactly a mood setter.

Comb. ”Sometimes, it felt like small pin-pricks across your body; other times, like a sharpened pencil pricking your skin. The more you dialled up the device to a higher setting, the more intense and deeply the sensation penetrated. My partner and I both favored the comb attachment, because it distributed the electricity evenly,” writes Lane.

Whip. Using a stimulating gel, Lane and her partner used the toy until they were turned on enough that they had sex. Afterwards, it was time to test out the Electro Whip, which is made of silicone and shocks as you use it on yourself or on a partner. This toy seemed to be Lane’s least favorite.

Overload. ”I couldn’t decided if I hated the electro-whip or loved it. The look of the whip is hot, but the mix of being flogged and electrically stimulated was a sensory overload that my body couldn’t process. While I loved that my a** was being ravaged, I didn’t want it ravaged in this particular way any more,” writes Lane.

Partner play. After using (and hating) the electric whip, Lane tried out KinkLab’s Power Tripper. This device uses an electrical current and isn’t the sexiest toy, but the one Lane seemed to like the most. It is meant to be used with a partner, who is able to control the toy.

Effect. “Once turned on, the individual wearing the tripper in effect becomes the human conductor: able to administer electrical currents using only their fingertips. Although the Power Tripper is not attractive and resembles something used to jump-start cars, it is surprisingly extremely hot. Let me shout it from my clitoral hood: The Power Tripper jump-started every inch of my body,” writes Lane.
