It all started when I found Qumma Art's pictures on the web. Oh, how I adored his work then and I still do. He then contacted me asking me to shoot with him and I was so overjoyed! We had our shoot and I got exited of the whole thing! As the years went by I started to shoot more and more. 4 years ago I finally decided that I really wanted to get more into this, improve my skills and create my crazy ideas with wonderful people. So here I am! Doing that stuff, and loving every second of it!Did you always want to be a model or did you have other career aspirations when you were growing up?As I grew up I’ve had a lot of thoughts of what I would want to do. As a little girl I dreamt of being a vet, because you could spend your whole days with animals! As I turned into a teenager I thought it would be nice to be a hairdresser but that didn't work out. At the same time I had dreamt for a long time to work at a gothic shop here in the center of Helsinki. As I turned 18 I finally made it there. I loved it but everything ends in its own time. As I tried few months to figure out what I really wanted to do I had 2 options I came up with. As a creative person I knew it had to be something that you do with your hands. So I had to decide between tattooing and doing artificial nails. At that time I needed the money asap so I knew I had to take my chances on learning artificial nails as it would be faster to learn than tattooing. So here I am, still doing artificial nails and lash extensions for a living. Almost 7 years behind of learning, working hard and winning a few trophies on the way. It has been a success. As it comes for modeling, it has been a very dear hobby to me, that I’m very devoted to, and now it's growing, fast. We'll see where it takes me, I'm ready!Do you love any one genre of modelling more than another?I love many many genres so it's very hard to come up with a specific genre. But if I HAD to choose one and only one, it would have to be this kind of artsy dark and surreal editorial photography. There's so much to look at, dark beauty, a surreal world and what that picture wakes up in you, questions and thoughts.. It can take you anywhere with your own imagination and wake up strong satisfying feelings. It's inspiring and candy to the eyes!Fantasy in every way, photography, movies, pictures, games, tv shows etc has always an special place in my heart and soul. You’ve recently started working with Dreamland Vixens. That sounds super exciting! Are you loving it?I AM LOVING IT! I really almost fell down on my ass when I was asked to join in. I'm still very excited about this and loads of stuff is under construction with dreamland vixens. They've helped me a lot on the way and I feel so appreciated and thankful. What else could a semi professional model want?!Do you prefer working under an agency, rather than as a freelancer?I've always been a freelancer until the beginning of this year when dreamland vixens found me. I would say it depends on what you want of your modelling and what agency we are talking about, the deals etc. If you just want to do modeling for a hobby and get a few neat pictures of yourself, you don't need an agency. But if you want your modelling to get to a bigger scale, get publications, sponsors, payed jobs and such, then an agency is a great way of getting there. I'm more than satisfied in where I stand now with Dreamland Vixens. I never thought I would make it this far with a hobby. So I would say on my behalf, I'm more than happy and excited to be working with Dreamland Vixens!
Photography by Juha Tikkanen[/caption]You work super hard to get great shoots! What has been your hardest shoot to date? This was a tricky one! There's not been that hard shoots for me because I’ve always got that mentality of shoots that if it doesn't hurt, get cold, wet or somewhat nasty or uncomfortable, it's not a great shot :D So get your highest heels on, get in the cold water, find the most uncomfortable position and try to look like you don't give a shit about it and we have a great shot! What do you do when you aren’t modelling? As I mentioned before, I’m a full-time worker at a nail salon, doing artificial nails and lash extensions for a living. On my free time besides doing shoots, I try to work out on the gym as much as I can. It's harder to keep yourself in shape when you're doing a full-time job sitting all day long not moving. As I need to relax, I crawl up in my couch, watch some TV or a movie with my beloved Bengal cat on my lap and let the purring sink in my mind and soul.I also of course try to meet up my friends and spend some quality time with them as much as possible. On some weekends we have good small parties here in Helsinki so I try as much as I can to go in every party possible and remember to celebrate life by enjoying myself with some good friends, music and dancing. That is when I feel most alive <3 span="">What do you consider your biggest career highlights so far? Biggest highlight in modeling? I must say it has to be this year starting off with a full blast of publications. I am so loving this moment! How much have you changed since you first started modelling?I've changed ALOT! As I started you could say my style was clearly a cybergoth. Now I am just who I am. You just can’t categorize me anymore in something specific. That's what I kind of like. I dress up in whatever I feel like whenever I want. One day I might be very alt feminine with all the lipstick, catlike eyeliners and studded high heels, other days I walk around in no makeup wearing leggings and a loose hoddie with some Nikes. Feeling good in whatever I want to wear is very important to me, regardless of what others think you look like.Do you have any tips for new models that find you inspiring? My tip for you girls and guys is: Keep it real, be comfortable in your own skin, be careful of false photographers, always ask for a portfolio from a photographer when arranging a shoot for the first time with a new face, never shoot something you feel isn't you, and always, always be humble, and never arrogant or greedy. Are you as in love with Neonia, as we are?
