Experience. Cosmopolitan writer Ali Drucker wrote about her experience using the sex toy, and how it differs from all the other toys she’s tried. As a sex writer, she has an immense amount of experience using sex toys and says there’s very few products she hasn’t already tried. However, Dr. Kat’s Flutter Ring definitely stood out from the rest.
Design. ”While there’s no shortage of jewelry-inspired sex toys out there, I’ve never tried a rubber ring that went on a hand, not a penis. At first glance, I was captivated by the design. Dr. Kat Van Kirk is a board-certified sexologist and the mastermind behind this product. I’d be lying if I said the fact that it was designed by a woman wasn’t a perk,” writes Drucker, via Cosmopolitan.
Ring. Drucker goes on to explain how the toy is designed, saying the toy has a separate bullet vibrator that attaches to the ring itself. As described on the website, the ring is made of silicone and has silicone tiers that move when it’s turned out. All you have to do is pop the bullet into the ring, put it on your finger, and you’re ready to go.
Flexible. “The ring’s hollowed-out basin is surrounded by four delicate, flexible silicone tiers that move subtly when it’s powered on. The idea behind sex toy retailer Adam & Eve’s newest item is simple: Wear the ring, touch yourself,” writes Drucker.
Cons. Although the ring seems easy enough to use, it does have it’s drawbacks. Drucker explains that perhaps the least favorite thing about the ring, is the fact that unlike most sex toys, it isn’t rechargeable and instead runs on batteries.
Batteries. ”No matter how good a product is, this is always an inconvenience compared to rechargeable items. If I can’t charge up my vibrator via USB right alongside my Netflix queue, literally why bother masturbating at all?” writes Drucker.
Experimenting. Battery issue aside, Drucker says it’s pros outweigh the cons. Drucker experimented with using the ring in more than one way, and each time was surprised with how easily she was able to orgasm. Clearly, getting butterfly kisses on your vagina feels a lot better than it sounds.
Kisses. ”Something about how soft and light the pressure was made orgasming incredibly fast and easy. The Flutter Ring lives up to its name. Imagine getting butterfly kisses on your clit, and then imagine the butterfly is battery-powered,” writes Drucker.
Results. Drucker says that while not every position she tried it in gave her the same results, she admits it was still more effective at making her orgasm than most of her other toys. At the end of the day, she was beyond satisfied with the results she got from using the buzzing ring.
Durability. ”Given the price point of just under $30, it stands to reason this toy probably won’t last forever compared to some of the more durable, rechargeable counterpoints out there. It won’t and shouldn’t replace your go-to vibrator of choice. But with 10 vibrating patterns and a fresh design, Dr. Kat’s creation would make a solid addition to any bedside drawer or bachelorette party,” writes Drucker, via Cosmopolitan.
