Emma Sayle. Let’s start with the element of these parties that is easily the most tabloid-worthy — the founder. Her name is Emma Sayle, and for some reason, people are saying she is linked to Kate Middleton, or as some know her Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge. But how…

Friends? She apparently attended the Downe House School with Katie Middleton, so they were schoolmates? “She also joined the Duchess in a dragon boat team called the Sisterhood for a charity race in 2007,” according to the Daily Mail.

Back in 2005. The same year Youtube was founded was the same year Emma Sayle started throwing these Killing Kittens parties in London. They have only just made their way across the pond to the United States.

History. The website says that Sayle founded Killing Kittens “in response to demand from young, independent and solvent single girls and couples with charisma who needed something more.” Killing Kittens has dubbed itself the world’s most exclusive, decadent, and hedonistic party.

The twist? The focus is totally, utterly, and completely on female pleasure. “Killing Kittens, the world’s most exciting underground party scene, is for girls in control who know what they want,” the website says.
For women, first. Sayle told The Guardian, “There are loads of platforms for men where it comes to sex, but when we started there was nowhere women could go, feel in control, and explore their sexuality in a safe environment.”

Humble beginnings. The group started over very small, very intimate, and now boasts over 40,000 members. 80 percent of those members are women, which the site says is “a testament to our single-minded reach for the ultimate in female pleasure… Girls, we make the rules and we can break the rules.”

Party locations. Parties are hosted throughout the United States, the UK and Europe, Canada, Hong Kong, and Australia. A party being advertised for June 25th, 2015 is being hosted in the Hamptons. It’s called “Killing Kittens The Hamptons — Private Estate. White Party.”

Cost. These parties certainly aren’t cheap. If you go alone, you’re shelling out around $150.00 a pop, but if you go as a couple, forget about it. You’re paying $400.00 to go together. We say you might want to go alone, to test the waters, for that price.

What’s it like. Gothamist reports that Gweneth Romein, a 46-year-old woman working in consulting who has attended almost 20 Killing Kittens events, said it was very similar to the movie, “Eyes Wide Shut.” "When [my ex-boyfriend and I] hosted a party at our house [in London], we had a bed and there were these two gorgeous silver foxes and this black girl whose legs went to Tokyo, and she was just demanding everything from them… it’s complete carnage.”

Standards. Sayle says that no single men are allowed to attend the parties, as that’s counterproductive to the event’s motives. Everyone at the parities, according to Sayle, has similar mentalities. “They’re all overachievers,” she says.

The look. “It’s not a case of everyone being supermodel quality,” says Sayle. “It’s nice-looknig people taking care of themselves… For example, we might get someone who is a size 14 or 16 US size and they’re massive, and they send us a photo and they might be in some bondage gear, and you just say, ‘No, that’s not a pretty sight.’”

So it’s not crazily inclusive. If you’re under a size 14, feel free to apply, we guess… “We have members who want a certain look and expect a certain standard, so that’s what we need to provide,” says Sayle.

Why the name. Bustle reports that the name Killing Kittens comes from the myth that says every time you masturbate God kills a kitten. You may be personally responsible for the death of several kittens, if this myth were true.

The Litter Box. Join Killing Kittens, and you’ll get to join the Littler Box, which allows you to speak to people signed up. You can chat, flirt, and meet people who have similar interests are you, and maybe even find a friend prior to an event. Pretty cool, we guess.
