was. Now, one maverick dominatrix is offering classes on how to do yoga while getting your freak on. Here’s the scoop on the newest sexy incarnation of this infamously toning practice - and why it’s gained such a major following.

Yoga is most often associated with wholesome activities like going to Starbucks and wearing those comfy yoga pants. Most of us know what we’d expect to see from a typical yoga enthusiast. But, Mistress Anna is just not your average yoga fan. She’s a woman who’s made a living on being kinky and crazy.
Mistress Anna runs a yoga class that is based out of Sydney, Australia. And, unlike most other yoga classes you’ll find, it will involve whips, straight jackets, and maybe even a little bit of leather. Spankings, pony play, puppy plan, and whippings, of course, are optional.

She calls it Kink Yoga. And, it involves all the normal yoga positions that you’d expect. It involves Downward Dog, Warrior Pose, Child’s Pose, and all other major yogic practices. Deep breathing, mindfulness, and other important aspects of yoga are all added to the mix - as one would hope.

Mistress Anna explained that Kink Yoga is a fusion of two different worlds. She incorporates people’s own unique kinks to a normal yoga class. She explained, "Whether it's pony play or puppy play, shibari rope, cock play, or sploshing... they can cross dress, or be tied up or wear nipple clamps in a certain posture, or do yoga in the nude ... as well as getting fit and healthy.”
The reason why she made Kink Yoga happen is because she noticed that there was a need for an outlet in the community. It’s hard to deal with the fact that it’s difficult to meet kinksters outside of sex parties. As a result, she hoped that Kink Yoga would allow people to talk about BDSM while also giving them a new hobby.

A good example of the clients she has would be Dan, a man in his late 20s who happens to be pretty shy. Mistress Anna explained that he’s a submissive who likes being tied up. Her way of motivating him to get better in yoga is to remind him, “The better he is at flexibility and core strength, the more suspension and heavier bondage he can take.”

Despite Mistress Anna’s imposing vibe, Kink Yoga is a very warm, accepting, and safe environment. The entire point of being part of the BDSM community is that it should be a safe place to feel like you can be yourself. People here don’t judge one another, and that’s why it’s gained a cult following.
One man who’s attending said that he’s going here while also undergoing treatment for skin cancer. He explained that it’s that nice mix of the “release” he feels from yoga and swapping out the pain of chemo for “good pain” that has him coming back. Like many others in the class, he’s hoping that he can get a good health boost from it.

The fact is that Kink Yoga also points out something that most people don’t usually think about. In most cases, being in tip top shape allows you to experience your kinks to their fullest. For example, if you have a thing for being tied up, you need to have major core strength. If you like group sex, being fit will help you get more partners.

Those who have given it a shot seem to love the way it makes them feel. And, we’re not only talking about the BDSM aspect of it, either. They like the workout they get, the community they get, and the fact that they feel like they can get to a better state of mind though it.
In the past, studies have shown that BDSM fans and yogis have a lot in common - at least mentally. The studies have shown that both tend to have more positive mental traits, that they are calmer, and that they may actually get a “meditative boost” from practicing either BDSM or yoga - or both. So, it makes sense that many people feel relaxed when kinked out.

The coolest thing about it is that Mistress Anna and her assistants are all trained to handle this. Yep. They’re not only professional BDSM workers, they’re also certified personal trainers who specialize in yoga. So, it’s definitely clear that they know what they’re doing.

Of course, there’s also something to say about people who have a yoga fetish. For example, one blog by the name of Royal Kink made a couple of posts about having slaves doing yoga as part of a BDSM scene.
